Artwork > Seating

Chairs are the hardest furniture to make well. Much is demanded of a chair, and they take the most abuse. Chairs are also our most intimate furniture (besides, perhaps, the bed and the coffin). The chair forms the spacial underpinnings of a human body, and as such a symbolic approximation of a a desired state. Therefor it also serves as a portrait of the maker and her or his aspirations.
